Fractal 8 Announcement -
Fractal 8 Official Announcement Fractal 8 was originally planned for deployment on Fractal Layer 2, a scaling solution built on the Bitcoin ecosystem. However, an unanticipated and severe bot attack targeting our official Twitter/X account—outside our control—resulted in the loss of our primary communication channel. Despite this disruption, we confirm Fractal 8 remains fully operational and secure, maintained entirely on-chain within the Bitcoin network. Fractal 8 is an interactive digital art piece with integrated sound and dynamic functionality. It is designed to be fully self-contained and fully isolated within a single Bitcoin inscription—meaning the complete work lives entirely on-chain in one location, without reliance on external hosting or off-chain components. This architecture represents a first-of-its-kind approach for fully on-chain interactive art at this level of isolation and completeness. Given the challenges encountered and broader conditions around Fractal L2, we are actively assessing the most responsible path forward, including whether an alternative approach directly on Bitcoin mainnet may be more appropriate. At this time, we are not able to commit to a specific timeline. Market conditions across the Fractal ecosystem have been weak, and forcing execution in an unfavorable environment could undermine the long-term integrity of the release. We want to be clear: Fractal 8 is not an abandoned project and it is not a fraudulent undertaking. While our original team structure has changed, the on-chain foundation remains intact. Going forward, we intend to communicate selectively and precisely—sharing only what is confirmed—and to reserve certain elements of the experience for holders to discover in due course. Updates will be communicated through our website as they become available. Thank you for your patience and continued support.
